Biography

Lekshmi Nair was born on 20^th February 1966 in Trivandrum, Kerala, India. Her father is Dr. N Narayanan Nair. He served as the founder and director of the Kerala Law Academy. It was the first private law school in Kerala. He was the first person in Kerala to receive a PhD in Law from Kerala University.

Family Details

Lekshmi Nair’s mother is Ponnamma and she is a former IAS officer in Kerala. Lekshmi Nair has two brothers and they are Raj Narayanan and Nagaraj Narayanan (Senior Advocate of Kerala High Court).

She got married with Advocate Ajay Krishnsan andhas two children. Her son is Vishnu Nair and he got married with Anuradha Nair.

She has a daughter Parvathi Nair and she got married with Aswin. They have three children and Lakshmi Nair is the grandmother of triplets. They settled in England along with family.

Education and Qualification

Lekshmi Nair completed her graduation from Government Women’s College Thiruvananthapuram, St. Teresa’s Collrege Eranakulam and Sri Venkateswara University, Thirupati.

She gained LLB, LLM and PhD from Kerala Law Academy, Trivandrum, she is the rank holder of Government Women’s College in BA History.

Career Journey

After college education, Lekshmi Nair entered into the teaching profession. In 1988 Lekshmi worked as a guest lecturer in Kerala Law Academy, Thiruvananthapuram. Lekshmi was appointed as a permanent lecturer in this academy in 1994.

In 2007, Lekshmi was appointed as the professor of Kerala Law Academy and in 2012, she achieved the Principal position of Kerala Law Academy.

During this time many controversies aroused regarding her position. Later she resigned the job following the protest strikes from students.

From 1980-1988 she worked as a news reader at ‘Dooradarshan.’ But she was very interested in cooking since childhood. She was passionate about experimenting new dishes.

Lekshmi Nair attended many crash courses on advanced cooking skills and hosted many cookery shows. The famous cookery show is ‘Magic Oven’ telecasted on Kairali TV. This program captured the attention of audience and she presented the traditional to International dishes.

She presented a travelogue on cooking named as ‘Flavours of India’ and it explains the culture, food and life style of other countries. ‘Flavours of Malaysia’ is another show launched in 2013. It introduces the food varieties, culture and life style of Malaysia.

Later she hosted another show titled ‘Pachakarani’ premiered in Kairali TV. After that another show ptremiered in Kairali TV titled as ‘Celebrity Kitchen Magic.’

She was interested in travelling and travelled across the countries like Australia, Austria, Italy, Singapore, Hong Kong, Malaysia, France, New Zealand, United States, etc.

She had visited the Universities like University of New Zealand, University of Otago, University of Dunedin, University of Queensland, University of Australia and University of Brisbane.
